1989 Renken 19ft 3.0 bogging, no power

i have a 1989 renken with a 3.0L motor. boat has been good to me up until the recent problem ive come across. the boat start with no priming neccessary, idles fine, but as i ease up the throttle i can feel almost like a miss, but revs thru it. If i put the boat in gear and try to go it goes to about 2k rpm then starts bogging down and almost stalls until i pull back on throttle. Ive checked all electrical, replaced plugs, fuel filters, cap, rotor, points. i dont know where else to turn. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

have you checked your plugs for a lean fuel maybe?

i put new plugs in 2x this summer. the first set had 20 hours on them and were not bad. just changed them "hoping" it would fix it!!!!!!!

Ayuh,.... Sounds like a Fuel Delivery issue,... Carb rebuild maybe,..??

I agree with Bondo it has to be some sort of fuel delivery issue. I would start with the stickies section at the top of this forum and trouble shoot from there you will find all sort's of usefull info in that section. (most likely carb rebuild) Check all fuel lines and vents from tank,fuel presure to carb, and then verify you are getting good blasts from jets into throat of carb, if not try a carb rebuild. next try check your timing is advancing correctly. Just remember to start with the most inexspensive issues first and work your way up and also test after each change if possible so as to find your solution and not just change a bunch of parts. Post back with your results and Good luck!

im heading down to docks now, im gonna clean the flame arrester really good with carb cleaner, look at carbs, and try running it with the gas cap off (incase of venting issues) i also forgot to mention, the choke thermostat had vibrated loose (the screws inside loosened up) i tightened them up once i looked and seen that it was loose. i will keep a post up once i return home
