Doggone it... WHIIIINE!

Contacted the seller immediately when I saw the ad, less than an hour after it was posted. I was 2nd in line. The first guy bought it.

16' with sweet running 60hp Mercury and a good trailer. Clean title and registration all around.

Price was dropped from $1400 to $975.

Arrrrrggggghhhhh! :(

Yeah, the really sad thing is that after I contacted the seller, the first guy called him back and said he was going to be delayed until later in the afternoon.

The seller should have bumped me up to first dibs at that point and I would now have the boat.

Dagnabit!

Re: Missed out on a Starcraft today

Sorry to bring back a dying thread but I know your pain it took me several months to find an aluminum open bow. Several times I would find one on craigslist and it would be sold by the time I called, I usually waited for a
price reducton like you. I ended up calling about vague ads such as 16'
deep-v bowrider and trailer. The ad had no pics so that was another plus,
as there are many people that won't even look at an ad without pics. The
ad I mentioned happened to be a 1982 16' sylvan sportster, an aluminum bowrider, for $600. The guy emailed me pics since he couldn't post them on craigslist. I immediately called and said I would buy it as long as he wouldn't sell it during the time I was driving out to see it. I ended up driving 240 miles
to buy the boat. The transom and floors needed replaced, but that was expected.
At least in Florida they're easier to come by from the snow birds and transplants( no offense to the northern members).

Yup, there are more out there. I'm watching a few right now as a matter of fact, although a couple of them aren't Starcraft vessels, they're good deals or at least reasonable.

Finally got a hitch put on my new ride this week, so that element has been removed from the equation! :D

I do the same thing. Responded to one the other day and came to find out it was a sweet looking Starcraft 18' StarChief aluminum cuddy! I let my friend know about it and he very well may be buying it. The ad was really terrible so he probably isn't getting a lot of other interest.

That was a fantastic price. I have a similar rig I would not part with for many many times that amount.
