witch outboard 225 is the best

i am looking to put a used motor on my bass boat and i am looking for info on witch one is the best on the market, i have found 3 motors i am interested in, ist is a 98 mercury carb 225, the next is the 98 yamaha 225 and the suzuki 225 please shead some light on this for me, thanks

Well, 98 is a wee bit pre etec. I would go with the Yammy. It's more of a cold weather creature then the Merc EFI. A 225 EFI is a HUGE GAS HOG. If you're a run and gun type you're going to be sorry.

They are all good motors... which one has a nearby dealer that you like.... Other wise i would go for the mercury.

if i had to chose 1 of the 3 it would be the suzy!now how much are they in comparison to new lets say you opt for slightly less hp but new ?if thats an option its e-tec all the way baby!

If you are into going fast(er) then go with the mercury.. If you want reliability I would go with the yamaha. I would think parts availability will be better for mercury so keep this in mind as things will go wrong eventually.
