Hi People, I have an Mercruiser 5.7 with an Alpha One outdrive.
The engine has just been remanufactured and there seems to be a problem.
There are two exhaust on the outdrive right above the drain hole of the hull.
The one on the left have less water than the one of the right and also the water is coming out with some vapor on the left Side.
On the top of the inboard engine there are two blocks that I think there are for exhaust, I am not sure about the name, but on the right side I can put my hand for about 6 seconds and on the left side I can't stand one second, It is very hot.
Do you know what can be happening?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome aboard! ;)

Give us a little more information - year, serial number, etcl

It is possible that the manifold or riser is clogged on the port side - (is that what you mean when you say "left"?)

I would be more concerned about the heat issue than the difference in water.

it is a 1999 Sea Ray, I can't find the serial number of the Engine, but acording to the people that did the remanufacturing, it is a 5.7 Vortec.
They said that they put new manifold and risers on the engine.
The problem is on starboard side
The Heat issue is what concern me more, But I wanted to be as clear as possible with the problem.

Well, one will run hotter than the other - especially running on muffs. It might not be a bad idea to buy, borrow, or rent an IR Gun and post the actual temps.

OK, I went to buy the IR gun today and this is the result
Port 110 oF
stbd 170 oF

Hope that clears it.

I am not experienced enough to be more specific with a diagnosis for you. Sounds to me like the manifold or riser on that side is blocked - or otherwise not getting the water it needs. I am posting mainly to bump it up for someone else to help. :(

I will take it to the mechanics that made the engine, they are the ones that should take care of this problem. Thanks for your help.
