Saw the news yesterday showing a severely damaged Ontario Provincial Police boat. The second one was a write off. Apparently, the officer in the smaller boat was thrown out when his boat hit a wave on Kempenfelt Bay. The second boat had to ram the smaller one because it continued to motor away. All officers involved were not injured. I guess use of the kill switch lanyard will be even more MANDITORY in the future.

Well, if he was watching what the heck he was doing, he wouldn't have hit a wave big enough to throw him off the boat. Just like I don't need no stinking seatbelt if I pay attention while I'm driving. I don't see how they can possibly enforce the use of the kill switch. They can require you to have it but whether you use it or not is uncontrollable. They ticketed me for not wearing seatbelt but I see them not wearing one all the times. They ticketed me for speeding and they all driving like a maniac on or off duty.

I use to dispatch for a police dept., and when off duty myself, a local cop, a sheriff, and a hi-way patrol all run around together. Speeding, and DWI all the time.

that is typical,
Do what I say, Not what I do.
We had a RCMP member, full uniform, vest, boots, weapon, fall in okanogan lake and drown a couple of years back, no life jacket
It can happen to anyone, no one is immune.

Not all cops run around driving like jerks and driving drunk.

For one, I drive a 4runner so it's kinda hard to drive fast and for b, I don't/can't drink. :D

Just so I understand, one boat hits a wave and looses a cop who isn't wearing his laynard which enables the boat to keep going and a second boat driven by a cop collides into the first boat to stop it?

WOW, I really thought I've seen/heard it all! Demolition derby on the water...any videos?

BTW, you didn't hear it from me but my hometown Sheriff's department is the county's drug dealer and only arrests it's competition.
