I have a 1991 3.0L H.O. OMC Sunbird Barletta 208 with a Cobra stern drive. Today when I took the boat out I noticed when I started it that a grinding noise came from the stern drive, with the engine off I raised and lowered the drive and the grinding sound went away only to return when I had the drive in the lowest position. As I would trim the drive up the grinding noise went away. I noticed that the grinding noise came back when I would turn the steering wheel at least one full turn both directions, when I straightened out the noise would go away. Could this be caused by the ujoints going bad. Any help appreciated.
