Stern drive identification

I bought myself a 1973 Stamus project boat. This will be my first major boat refurb attempt and I expect I will be a regular on this forum for the foreseeable future. Right now I need some help identifying the stern drive. The original Ford 302 engine has been replaced by a 1994 351, it has a closed cooling system. The parts documentation that came with the boat identifies the drive as a Mercruiser II (circa 1973, I presume). I?m assuming the ?II? refers to generation two. It has the lifting eye on top and the lower unit has no provisions for water intake. It is carrying a 19? prop. The question is; is this stern drive the same as an Alpha 1 Generation II or is it directly replaceable by one? If it helps the serial number on the upper unit is 3609571.

Thanks in advance.

If you're talking about a 19" diameter prop, you have the large TR series drive which is the precursor of the BII drive. They were just as bullet proof as the BII of today. Do you have a separate tranny behind the engine?

Nope,... It's Not an Alpha, at All...
It's a breed of it's own,+ is now Obsoltete,...
There's some Used parts out there, but No new parts...
Btw,...
It Interchanges with Nothing...

Yep, there is what appears to be a gear box behind the engine. Thanks, one question down ~ 2 or 3 hundred to go?
