I have a 1972 Cruisers Inc Bonanza which weighs approx 3300lbs (according to man. specs.). The boat has a mercruiser 888 (188hp) Ford 302. The current prop is an aluminum Michigan Wheel 15.25x19p. With current prop wot is 3800 rpm (3800-4200 rpm is manufacturers wot range). The boat will top out at 37-39 mph with 2 adults and 40 gals of fuel. I just ordered from iboats a solas lexor prop ss (15.25x19p) for 299.00 which I thought was a good deal. I wanted to have a spare prop (which the aluminum will become) and was hoping to gain a little bit better planing time and mpg with new Stainless prop. Does anyone have any idea if this was a good purchase. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!!

In my opinion you are going to lose more RPM and be lugging the motor at all RPM and speed. But it depends on which Michigan wheel prop you have on it now.

best to run motors at upper limits of recomended wot rpm range. a 17" pitch prop is what i would be looking for to reach 4200. plane time will be better
