1970 Johnson 115hp no spark

Well i recently purchased a Glastron with a johnson 115hp motor, The starter was bad, so put a good OE one on. That worked great, put in new spark plugs, got no spark! Bypassed the ignition safety switch, still nothing. It has a new CDI. The boat was running in may so i was told. I pulled the flywheel, lightly sanded the plates on the stator assembly, there was minor rust, and moisture under there still nothing. I have the seloc manual from iboats. I have good mechanical skill's, just no experience with boat motors. Any help is much appreciated.

Check the two wires going from the power pack up to the advance arm then under the flywheel to the sensor. On my 69 (same as your 70) the insulation had broken down and had corroded and shorted to the advance arm.

Ok well now i have to wait, for some reason they guy i bought the boat off of, must have wired the new pulse pack wrong, left the key on for about 10seconds and burned 2 holes in the back of the pulse pack. I dont know it looked hooked up right.

Get a manuel so you can check for wires.
