Broken Evinrude '63 10hp mount

A friend just got this engine. The mount is broken in a very odd spot. Any ideas which other mounts fit? Will earlier 10's fit? Earlier 15's? thx.

Man that looks a tough one, it looks like the swivel bracket is broken, is that correct? I will try and look up some parts books tomarrow and see what I can find out for you.

If an 18hp bracket will fit, I think I may have one I don't need.

I know, weird eh. No idea how it was bust. I have a spare 15016 mount out in the garage now. Was wondering if it would fit. Or any 50's engine as I have lots of them.

OK, here's what I found. PN 379284 is the swivel bracket for a 1963 evinrude 10 HP. The same part number is used on the following, 1963-5.5 hp, 1964-5.5hp, 1965-6 hp, 1966-6hp, 1967-6hp. Then the PN drops.

If you google boats.net, and insert your PN in the search box, you will see that the PN picks back up in 1972. I am not sure if the bracket was modified in any way, you will have to look at the parts breakdown for the 72 model and compare.

I only have evinrude manuals, I am sure that johnson used the same bracket on there models, but I can't look them up.

And as I was looking at the same time, Here is what I found: 1963 10hp swivel bracket number 304291. Same number used on 10hp 1958 thru 1963. Also used on 5.5 & 6hp 1956 up at least thru 1963.

304291 AND 379284 are both superceded by 393353. 393353 is used up through at least 1970 on 6hp.

Are we confused yet?

I have the parts manual for the '58 10 and indeed it is #304291. But unfortunately all my parts engines are earlier. Wait, I think I have a '59 5.5hp for parts... I can get it off that one! Similar color also. Perfect! Thanks.
