I could use some help...I have a '87 50hp Merc that all too often runs on 2 cylinders when it's cold. Once warmed up, it hits on all 4. It seems to be getting worse. If I let it idle on the dock for at least 15 minutes it'll be OK - but if not, I'll need to go 1/2 way across the lake for it to run on all 4. Do I have a bad coil? At first I thought it was a carb problem, but I think it's electrical - can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help is appreciated.

This is the exact problem I'm having. Did you ever figure it out?

You should check around your advance arm to make sure the holding pin didn't come out as well as wiring or green death which cause low polarity to your ignition system. Just a thought... Noah
