I have a 1988 50hp Johnson VRO model: J50BELCCS That wont turn over. I have put new spark plugs new gas and new battery. the compression ratio is 150 on both plugs. I pulled the spark plugs and there isn't any spark on any of the spark plugs. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? power pack or what?

Thanks for the help.

disconnect the large red harness plug, then test for spark ,or try starting by jumping positive strait to the starter ,BEWARE,you need water to be hooked up,if it starts you will not be able to kill it with the switch, put the plug wire on loosly and pull them off when it starts, thats why i prefer doing a spark test, its possible your key switch has gone bad,you could also disconnect the blk/yel wire from the pack, that is your kill circut
