okay guys here is my problem, I have a honda 7.5 don't know year but it's I can start it up it runs for 3 seconds then dies, I checked the coil and it's good the spark plugs are new and gapped correct the fuel strainer is letting fuel get threw there is fuel in the carb bowl, I took the rear filter off the one mounted on the fuel pump and it had crude in it I cleaned it out with sea foam and ran some in my tank threw the carb, took the jet needle out no dirt grim or anything in there, still no joy on it running past a few seconds took it out on the lake, started it up shifted real fast into forward ran fine then as soon as I let off the throttle to idle shut off....and won't run past 3 seconds I think it's the fuel pump but those are close to 100.00 I want to know if there is anything I'm missing before I crank out that much money... thanks guys.

I think you are on the right track thinking it's a fuel problem.
If you keep squeezing the primer bulb after it starts that would make up for fuel pump problems. Try it and see if you can get it to run longer that 3 seconds?
I'm also wondering if the float or float needle is stuck or dirty and only allowing a trickle of fuel in.
If it is the fuel pump look for a rebuild kit.
