Battery Charger question...

Got a boat that has a pull start Tohatsu engine on it. I have a battery in the boat that runs the CMC TnT unit. It is a standard deep cycle battery. I want to put in a 12v plug wired to the same battery to run a spotlight off of. My question is.... Do I need to invest in a battery charger to plug into this battery every night? My buddy's old boat had a plug so you could just plug an extension cord from a wall outlet right to the boat and it would charge the batteries. I'm worried about the battery not staying charged seeing as it is not hooked up to the motor.

you will need to charge it quite often. those lights will drain it.
You can get one of those plugs at Gander Mountain or maybe even from the parts store on here. then you just need a small charger and plug it in at night and you should be good to go.

Invest a little into a good onboard charger/maintainer
Plug it in & forget it till your ready to hit the water ;)
No worries about overcharging ---------

Get a one bank battery charger. I got mine from Bass Pro Shop. Mount it in the boat then just plug it in when the boats not in use. It will charge the battery then maintain it when it's not in use. Or you could just use a portable battery charger that you can pick up at Wal-Mart. People with Bass boats do this all the time for there trolling batteries.

Re: Battery Charger question...

We put a Minn Kota 2 bank on board charger in our boat when we bought it. You might want to look on line, and see if there are any rebates on these. There was when we got ours, for if I remember right about $20.00.

The Minnkota you referenced will work just fine.
