I have an old 10hp sportwin evinrude and I don't know what year it is. The serial numbr is 10014-13088 or 89. Could someone tell me what year model this motor is? Thanks. tccjt

Hopefully, you still have the 2 line gas tank and the connector to the motor!

The old 2 line connectors and tanks are easy enough to come by. Check ebay and CL in your area. It's not difficult to replace the o-rings if yours is leaking. I have a '58 Sportwin. It still has the 2 line and it runs great. Have fun!

Laings Outboards will have the tank rebuild kits. They sell the o-rings for the connectors here at i-Boats.com

Once you have done a couple of them, it is easy. The first one is a pain while you figure it all out, unless you can find the special tool. I went to Home Depot and found they sold 3 inch long, 5/16 diameter (I forgot what penny that is) hardened finishing nails and ground the point off one. It worked great for pounding out the brass in the end of the connector. After that, it was easy! I did them all.

The old tanks aren't hard to find, but unless you can find someone who doesn't know what they are worth, they can be expensive!

What mixture is best for my 57 sportwin? Is it 50:1 or 24:1?
