1931 8HP Johnson Seahorse mix? w/pics

I just picked up a '31 8hp seahorse...what LU lube oil and mix ratio do I run?

The motor looks cosmetically restored. I do not know if it has compression...yet! I'll up-load some pics soon.

Most motors from around that year used 16:1.

If it's a runner, you'll find it very smooth running, a feature of the boxer design.

3/4 Pint of SAE-40 Non Detergent oil per gallon. That's roughly 10:1

What kind of lube in the LU??? Grease? Oil?

You need to get a shop manual and owners manual from Ken Cook. Got them for my 1935 Evinrude Elto and not terribly expensive either.
