Looking for Oil type and filter info

Can anyone point me to the right type of oil for my boat motor?

I'm going to winterize my boat this week, I live in MN. The boat will be in storage until spring.

It's a '82 Merc 898. (GM 305)

About how much will I need to fill the case?

Anyone know where to find out the filter needed as well?

P.N. 35-802885T changes to part 866340K01 Fits all MCM/MIE GM engines, except V6, without remote oil filter bracket. Most common filter.

I'd like to, but that file is 1.38 GB...that's right "GB". It was scanned as a jpeg I think and it's 1100 pages. It doesn't have the type of oil in it. That is usually in the owners manual, not the service manual.

I really don't know what weight/viscosity oil that takes, but if you call iboats @ that number I'm sure they can tell you, and verify the filter number.
