Re: Sail 15 HP 2 stroke Outboard
Unfortunately In my opinion not a real bargain. You are allready experiencing
the affects of a brand with out much support.Did you consult with the seller about your problem? What happens if you whack a rock and ruin your prop
do you know where to get one?Can you get one?Suppose it has an assembly defect will they replace, can you get service anywhere?
Speaking generically double your Fuel mix on the first tank.24:1 is a good number.Operate the motor through various rpm ranges touching wot(wide open throttle only briefly)
Cruise at about 3/4 throttle not staying at one rpm for extended times.
After one tank go to the regular mixture usually 50:1 Hopefully you have that info.
Most start procedures are similar ,cold start, open tank vent, squeeze primer bulb on hose till firm, set throttle to start, activate choke/primer, crank,
when it fires discontinue choke as operation seems to indicate most motors require very little choke if any once they fire. Some of these motors are clones of existing major brands once you establish which one you may be able to substitute parts.
I sure hope you will have many hours of successful boating with your new motor. It would be interesting to hear how you make out. We'll be glad to try to solve any problems you run into.boat or motor.
