Hi Having a new problem with my Yamaha. I went out fishing last week and the engine ran fine all day. When I was about half way back to launch I ran into some wind and waves. It started to slowly, smoothly loose power. I stopped and it idled fine, shut it down and checked for overheating, loose wires, low fuel etc. Everything looked OK. I started back up, took off with full power, so far so good then 5 minutes later it repeated the same thing. I would throttle back and idle for a few minutes and take off it would run OK for about 5 minutes the repeat the same pattern. I checked my fuel water seperator..... clean. I filled it before leaving with fresh Premium fuel. I am guessing, debris in one of the carbs or fuel pump going out? I pulled the plugs and #1 was slightly wet, #2&#3 were light brown.I have a carb rebuilt kit and was planning on rebuilding them this fall. It seems like a fuel starvation problem. Any ideas out there?

Re: YAMAHA 70HP ETLF looses power at WOT

ever find out what the problem was, i'm having a similiar problem. hit a big wake, and slowly lost power....would idle fine, start back up fine. Could restart and run great WOT for a minute or so, then would lose power. When it lost power, i could still stay on plane about 3500rpm, but any more throttle and it woudn't go any faster....primer bulb was pumped while this was happening and it didn't change anything, i then took off fuel tank cap and no change as well.
