i have a 15foot alumium boat. with a 1958 35hp johnson. currently have a 10 dia 12 pitch prop. sounds like it runs good rpms

i would love to ski but never done it before. should i tilt motor in currently its 3 holes out. and maybe wakeboard? would wakeboarding need more power?

Re: enough power?

you should be able to ski with that. that boats is where skiing began. doubt you can slalom behind it. wake board takes more power to start off. we use to ski behind a homemade 14ft 3/8 plywood boat with a 1955 15 hp. of course we had learned to ski first.

I don't think you need to tilt the motor to ski but you want to be on the best plane. Use your spotter's balast to adjust your trim, with nautical commands such as "move your fat ss astern."
To slalom you will have to start on two skis and drop one.
With a tin boat you will find that your skiier, especially on slalom, will pull your stern around a lot so be aware of that driving.

Re: enough power?

sounds good. now on wakeboarding i went to a cable place and its real expensive. 40 bucks a day! plus it basically a big mud pit and ameoba central so i dont really want to go there again. 40$ i can go like 3-4 days worth of gas if i run w0t!!!! plus like 5 kids had died from ameoba's

my dad used to ski and salom i believe. but he had a 50hp mercury and 6 inches small boat.

it a fiberglass lighter then an alumium boat? im thinking my boat it lighter since it has no stringers but the other boat i have is like open and one 3 person bench in the front so i guess my fiberglass boat is lighter? if had good foam.

actually takes less power to take off wakeboarding. We learned this. My wife is 55 and just got up for the first time this year. We found the less power the better when taking off.

i kinda want to wakeboard because my friend first started to water ski he hit the water and hit the back of his head. and double ski's looks kinda funny:p salom is way cooler.

i tried wakeboarding behind a air nautigue and i could get up couldnt really stay up. just needed a few more times to try but i said meh ill do it on my own boat.
