I've been searching but no luck! I'm looking or hoping to find snap in canvas cover for my 1988 Maxum 1700MA 17' bowrider. Snaps are in, previous owner had but didn't take care of and had to throw out; unfortunately as I would have kept them just for the pattern to make more. I've looked into getting custom ones made up but the price is out of control, so hoping someone may have some layin around they dont need? hahaha - Maybe? anyone?
Thanks

I know, i've been searching on ebay and craigs list - even asking soem that are selling the same boat if they would be willing to just sell me the cover. One custom shop quoted me $900 which is what i paid for the boat! no way am i doing that!!. Hoping something will come along my way.
thanks

Even if you found one at all, the snaps would most likely not mate up.

If you have access to a sewing machine, you can make your own. I did it with my wife's 30 year old Sears&Roebuck sewing machine. Standard cheapo model. I bought 5 "denim" needles (broke 3 before I figured out to let the machine pull the material through), and spent about $150 on Sunbrella fabric and snaps. I did a bow cover and a cockpit cover.

If you don't have access to the original covers (I did), you could buy a cheap drop cloth for $20 at the home center, and make your own template.

that would make a neat write-up, how to make your own covers at home. I would be interested, as i have thought of making a cockpit cover as well.

FWIW, my 20' boat's orginal cover was shot and just couldn't see paying upwards of 3 bills for a new one. Picked up a 24' x 12' sillver-gray plastic tarp abt 20 bucks, and have that wrapped over the boat snugged tight with $15-20 bucks worth of bungee cords. Seems to be working fine, survived the Santa Ana winds no problem.

I like Blouderbacks idea on making my own. My wife has a pretty good sewing machine that i can use, just have to figure out the template. Wish i had the old covers to use as a template. I will try the drop cloth idea though.
Thanks
