Anyone know where I can get a 0-20psi water pressure gauge? All I can find are the 0-30psi gauges. I have a 25hp Johnson and the 0-30 is a little too much since I only get about 12psi when the water pump is new.

Re: Water Pressure Gauge

Welcome to iboats.

0-30 will work just fine. This has been discussed before and 0-30 are what are available. I swear by water pressure gauges and they have saved my bacon more than once.

Re: Water Pressure Gauge

There are 0-15PSI gauges out there. I bought and installed one on my motor last summer. They are harder to find but still available. Mine is Quicksilver, I think.

I prefer the 0-15 range because like you, I only get about 12PSI at WOT with a new impeller. At idle I only see 2-3 PSI. On a 0-30 gauge you won't even see half scale when running at WOT, and the needle won't move when at idle.

Keep your eyes on ebay. That's where I got mine.

Re: Water Pressure Gauge

Ideally you want a guage that is 1/2 times the your target pressure. Therefore, you are correct in wanting a 24psi max gauge since your target pressure is around 12 psi. However, a 30 psi gauge will not be overkill as its only about 5psi higher. You might want to go with a 30 psi gauge just for surges in pressure.
