Can anyone tell me a simple way of getting the drive off? I am rebuilding a 84 Bayliner Ciera with a 280 Drive made by volvo, I have everything diconnected and cannot get the two tilt pins to budge, any ideas? other than using a torch and cutting it off and placing a Mercruiser drive on this boat....

I was told by one mechanic that I don't need to remove these pins to replace the boot all I need to do is remove the 4 bolts holding the upper housing onto the middle unit turn it to the side and give a good yank, he said it should pop right out and off.... Yeah Right. Even the book don't say anything about this method. well the books I have gotten off here and off the web..

I am really starting to hate Volvo. nothing is simple....

Laugh if you want, but if you go up to the adults only sticky at the top of this forum, you will find some Volvo info that explains EXACTLY how to do it.
It usually takes me around 45 minutes to change the bellows on a 280. Really easy job.
