primer bulb

i have a 1988 classic 50, and it will run for a about thirty seconds and the primer bulb goes flat. It will stay running if you pump the primer. Any ideas? Thanks.

Replace the hose and bulb with a new one, OEM prefered.
Or open the tank vent????

Vent on tank is open, and hose is brand new.

Check the pickup tube in the tank for obstructions.
There is also a little valve at the hose connection on the tank that could be sticking.

Thats was what was wrong with mine.I use a 5gal tank with seafoam added and it took care of my problem.My pick up tube was picking trash off the bottom of the tank.
