1962 9 1/2 johnson runs on choke only

We rebuilt the carb and now it will only run on choke the tank and the hose/primer is all new we have good spark at both plugs I did a search and have done about everything sugested any help would be great thanx for your time

If it'll run fast normally, and only with choke when slow, likely the low speed circuit in the carb is blocked.

Still got a fuel blockage in there somewhere.

you might also check the condition of the boot in the lower part of the motor leg. When these fail, it often runs like this.

read carb adjustments, single needle. that is what the knob on the left is for.

The small capillaries between the needle and the throat of the carburetor are esily clogged and may need cleaning; you will need to remove the needle to clean.

The setup on the low speed varies between model years in that later models have an insert under the core plug called a filler plug calibration pocket.

There are no 1962 9.5 Johnson motors, what is the model number?
