Does anyone have a picture of what the OMC prop shaft seal puller looks like?

I need an easy method of replacing prop shaft seals on Johnnyrudes from the 70's (40 HP and above).

At first I was looking to build a bearing carrier puller, but after reading and some researching via the search function I have heard that it is not necessary and about a "special" tool.

Found a "seal puller" from HF, not sure if it is similar or would do the trick?

Re: Prop shaft seal puller or good method?

Thanks for the heads up on the HF tool.

I read that thread and picked up on a vague recommend for the lisle tool.

I search the web on it and found a vid on youtube of it in action. It can't be this easy! I think they must have greased those seals before shooting. I can't imagine things going this slick.

Heard great things about that elusive OMC tool for the job. Anyone had a chance to use both?

The first thumbnail is a picture of one of mine ("remover end"). The second thumbnail is of the inside cover from the case.

Now that looks nice. Thank you so much for sharing your pictures of those. Now I can see what the factory tool is like.

I spotted something similar to this on another thread when I was using the search function.

" Default Re: possible to replace prop shaft seals without removing lower unit?
Make you a threaded seal remover from a piece of steel conduit the inside diameter of shaft your working on. Thread it with a pipe threaded and grind thread down to a taper. I had one I used to replace crankshft seal on 15-25 hp motor but loaned it out and never got it back. Here is picture on how it would be made. Below is qoute from tool site:
"This special service tool was developed for the proper removal of the Gear Box Main Oil Seal. At the working end of this tool is a spiral "Barbed Type" thread which secures into the inner part of the oil seal w/o damage to any vehicle part. The grab is one direction. Trying to do this task with any other method is risking a total transmission failure by way of a damaged oil seal housing"

I think making one of these is a beyond my skills and shop tools. The hold tapered barbed thread thing throws me off. I sent an email to Meyer maybe a long shot they still have some on the shelf.
I bet Frank could turn out a dozen of these before lunch tomorrow....
