Need info on old boat.

I had posted a thread earlier about a needing info on an older boat I was told it was a 79 Thompson but I can not find anything on it even the web sites that where recomended were no help. Well if you don't know what it is then you probably don't have a title for it and as such it wouldn't be worth much.... you need to find the hin which should be on the right rear corner outside of the boat... that will be able to tell you everything you need to know.... if it doesn't have one and it has no title then it's value is whatever you can get for the parts you sell off of it minus whatever it costs you to get rid of the rest

It does have a title I just have not recieved it yet, my father inlaw bought it at an auction for me and did not want to give the shipper the title, I will be recieving the title next week. It does have the vin numbers on the rear right coner also, but I did not know that, that would identify the boat I will try that tomorrow.

check here for info on the hin.... notice it is not a vin ... hull identification number

I have finally recieved the title and it does not have a model on it, I have also tried to enter the hin on several diferent sites but no help, they were like a carfax for boats, I know it is a 79 closed bow with a merc 90, but thats about it. If I post the hin on here can any one help?

outside transom of boat, upper starboard there is a number stamped into the hull, what is it.

Thompson has a great reputation in the boating world.

TMS994SCM779k-80 is the whole thing but any time I tried on the history finding sites and added the -80 it said invalid number.

Don't know if you've tried it but sometimes s lookslike 5 and 0 looks like O or D

Thank you for the web site fiberglassics but it seems to under construction, yes I have tried changing the numbers of the hin, the number I posted earlier works as long as you drop the 80 I tried it on the web site linked the nada.com to find out the history of the boat it tells you the manufacturer and the year but thats it unless you pay 40.00.
