Hello,

I just bought my first steering controlled boat and engine.

The engine is a 1980 35 Johnson Seahorse runs good except the throttle control on the control box will not stay in place.

You have to hold the throttle forward with your hand or it will back down to idle speed.

Where is the adjustment on the box and how do you adjust it ?

Thanks for any assistance !

A black knob below the key switch, turn it clock wise, this your friction control for the throttle.

the knob is sometimes on the front of the control box. you hand should always be on the throttle any way.
