As most of you may know I work in the logging industry. We were told yesterday at our company,s Christmas lunch. Even though the price of lumber has not gone up we have been getting more contracts that we can handle and will be expanding to meet the needs.

This is good news to every one on both sides of the border because this means that the raw materials that I help produce get sold around the world.
Which says the economy is looking up around the world. Which means money is starting to move and will filter down so more people can be employed in all job sectors.

Is that good news or what.:)

Re: Good News

Yes it is when you look at the root of the economy seeing the most basic materials in demand is great news .... Now if it could only filter down to the automotive industry !!

PS I take it that this was a better day than the frozen puddle day you had HUH

Re: Good News

Well, how do the tree huggers feel about it?

It certainly is a good sign for the economy.

Re: Good News

There are lots of signs of recovery and believing in it is as important as anything. When people are scared, they don't spend, but when they start to relax and feel that things are looking up, the money starts to flow.

I recently rebuilt/upgraded a couple of computers and expanded a wired network in my house, rebuilt one of my trailers and did some major maintenance on my van, so I did my part for several segments of the economy! :D

I guess we will worry about that when the tree huggers stop using wood products, or any other earth borne product.

Re: Good News

Im not a tree hugger but I do think that the trees cut down need to be replaced with new ones and that they dont make a mess that will cause top soil loss. I also think that if they destroy places where wildlife live that arent over populated they need to catch and relocate as many as they can. Cutting trees is one thing hurting animals is another.
