Stern Bracket Johnson 25hp 1972?

Hi I have a johnson 25 hp 1972 model 25r72r
the transom stern bracket is bust on on side. part no. 0383949
I have the chance of buying a similar bracket from a 1983 model j25elctd have been told it should fit but it looks slightly different
anyone any ideas

Part number 0383949 used on : 1970-1976 yr and 18-25hp motors, should be tons of these laying around.
