Re: DirecTV dish and snow?
I learned that on my first home...ran into the same problem. Hated the trip up to the roof on a ladder...with the wind and the snow swirling...
Then we moved...when the Direct TV guy got there, I told him that I wanted it on a post in the ground. He started in about added charge for an 'untypical' install. I smiled and told him(it was November, cold, windy, and raining)....you have a choice. You can either stay on the ground, dig the hole, put it on a pole, and not charge me...OR...you can get your ladder and go 30 feet up in the air(2 story home with catheral ceiling) and put it up. I went inside and came out in half an hour to find it installed on a pole next to the house. Identical thing happened at this house...except it was December
Yes, you need Rain-X, WD-40 or Pam...but that isn't a guarantee. There is a mesh netting you can get. If you can't have it reposition to the ground, then get one of those and avoid falling off a ladder!!
