i am mating new Bravo 3 stern drive and gimbal housing to a Yanmar
4LHA-STZE Diesel in my 26' Bertram
I do have an alignment tool.:)
What is the proper order of the various spacers and washers that comprise the rear engine mounts? and what is the best way to remove the old rubber bushes?
Any hints on the alignment procedure?

Thanks...very helpful.

I removed the old flex bearings which had been put in upside down. There were no fiber nor double helical washers. The mounts were metal to metal.

Previous owner had destroyed 2 outdrives, I'm convinced this was due to misalignment.

The new bearing Yanmar P/N 119778-08310 "Mounting flexible" kit has identical flex bush as Merc. fiber and SS washer, also a large SS washer with a tapered inside, I assume this washer fits in the inside of the engine mount with the taper facing up?

I believe that when the alignment tool is correct it can be freely rotated without any binding.

Ayuh,... Aligning is more of a push/ pull motion, rather than twisting....

Slather the tool with Grease,... Insert it, push it home,... Withdraw it,+ inspect the spline Tracks in the grease...
They should be even all the way around the tool...
Rotate the motor, 90?, repeat, 180?, repeat, etc...

Good Luck... 'n Welcome Aboard...
