25 johnson starts sometimes?

I have a 1993 johnson 25 electric start, the problem I have is Intermittently it wont start. It will never die on me but sometimes when you go to start it, it wont and it doesnt matter if it is hot or cold, and when it wont start there is no spark at either cylinder,I tried disconecting the kill switch but still made no difference,any help or suggestions would be appreciated thanks

The fact you are not getting spark to both cylinders and the problem happens intermittently when the motor is either warm or cold, sure sounds like a classic kill switch problem related to corrosion. If you have not done this already, you could try disassembling the remote control and looking at the kill switch mechanism. There is something intermittently shorting out up front in your electrical system. Possibly someone with more experience than me can give further advice.

i hope kill switch, but could be power pack.

that is also what I thought it was the kill switch on the motor itself because its a tiller so the one time it happened I cut the one wire coming from the kill switch but it still would not start so I dont know if there is something else Im missing or overlooking thanks again

Could be the power pack as recommended above. This is an expensive part. Possibly and expert here can recommend a test to see if the power pack is bad before you replace it.

I will look in my OEM manual tonight and see if there is a test. I have a 1989 20 but it will probably apply to your motor as well. If you don't already have one, you may want to consider buying a manual for your motor. It will pay for itself the first time you have a problem. Maybe someone will respond with a test.
