Hey yall,
I got a 1985 Sunbird boat and there is no capacity plate and local Game and Fish say I need one. How can I get one? I know Sunbird is long gone.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah I could do that but I don't know the specs of my boad to tell them what to put on mine. I got the HIN but that is another story.

Re: 1985 Boat Capacity Plate

I believe ( though do not run to the bank with this) that the generic HP calc is Length X Width X 2 -90 = maxhp
( example 17foot X 6foot X 2 -90 = 114HP...so the Max HP would be 115hp )

I am not sure how they calc the weight limit, but in Indiana I am told that for each length boat the state will apply a generic number. For my boat ( 17 foot Hydra Sport) they said the weight limit would be 450lbs. ( coincidentally I found the capacity plate later in a box of parts and the weight limit is 450lbs)
Someone once told me they take the hull weight, divide by 1/3...but I do not know that and that math does not work out on my boat.

I think I would find a boat similar and use its weight limit.
