I am new to two strokes and am rebuilding my carbs on a 1977 70hp johnson seahorse. Someone told me after rebuilding them I should balance the flow so as not to possibly lean out on other cylinder(s). I have not reuilt them yet, but have not read anything about flow balancing in the manuals. Does anybody have any insight on this subject. Tomanator

Re: carb flow balancing

Not really much to "balance". You'll need to set the linkage as per the manual, basicaly the buterflies are completely shut at idle, and horizontal at wide open. Pretty simple carbs, no big deal really.

Let's see if we can get a mod to move us back to the Johnson / Evinrude forum.
