Figured i may as well add another thread to the dozens on here. More members redoing there boats then anything else right now lol.

1981 18' Campion. Had the boat for the last two years, guy before me pretty much jimmy rigged the thing for a quick sale. He painted it and therw a motor on it to turn a profit. i knew this when i bought it as there were many things mickey moused. But got it for really cheap and ran it for two awesome seasons. now its time to get a new motor as i blew the old chrysler last year.

So, while i wait to get a motor i figured id fix the floor and all the other stuff first.

heres some before pics

I like the rear seats. Make sure to check the transom and stringers while you are doing the floor. more than likely its a bigger job than you expect.
Try using photobucket to post you r pics in the thread so they are bigger and you dont have to click on thumbs.

Re: 81 Campion

So the po just layed new painted plywood ontop of the old rotten deck. I knew this before as you could see it in the bilge section. Anyways started pulling up the ply and glass decks.... I found a ski locker!! lol just covered up under the ply, and rotted through the origional deck so just sitting loose in the bottom of the hull lol.

another surprise is...the water under the starboard side....AWESOME!! lots more work ahead of me. i figure ill pull the rest of the flooring tonight if i can get a grinder from my buddy and the foam tomorrow.

My po did the same thing but only did a strip down the center betweenn the seats but he did cut a hole for the ski locker. Definitly check the stringers and transom. If there is still water in there they are most likely rotted

ya lol school chairs in the back, that was the selling point for this boat lol.

and ya the starboard stringer is probably gonna need to be replaced, from what i can see so far its soft on the top. the forward half of it seems solid so i might be able to do just the aft section. Ill see more tomorrow after the foam is out

Any progress on this one? Just curious as I am working on a 1981 Campion Alert but I have the inboard motor not an outboard? Where abouts in Canada are you?
