Command Link question

Hi Gang,

I ordered the command link Tach kit for my F150TXR from www.simyamaha.com I'm looking forward to having some real data. My question is, will I still be able to keep my analog speedo? I'm not sure if you can run Command link and Analog simultaneously. Some cool things I didn't realize, is after I install the 6 port data hubs, I can add to the system just like a LAN type data base. I can interface GPS, and other Command link gauges simply by plug and play... This is the list of parts I ordered. I also decided to get a real service manual... The folks at SIMYamaha are great to deal with.

yes you can but you cant interface the speedo with the command link.
but as you get more familiar and want to add more command link stuff its all simply plug and play.
the square speed/fuel guage is nice as is the triducer.

Andy at SIM Yamaha was trying to get me to bite on the other modules, but I just can't afford or justify it. My "Last Plan" is to connect a GPS chart plotter to the system. This will be my real speedo, The speed/fuel gauge sounds great, but I'm not that concerned about my 52 gallon tank going empty on local lakes... At least with the Tach I can know what my engine is really doing... That was the most important thing for me...

some analog speedos can accept an input from the GPS.
the command link tachometer doesnt but can display information on a compliant GPS or radar system.
the data that can be displayed on the compliant system is engine monitored data and if you use the correct interface you can display speed and some other data on a compliant display.
there is a new interface module that plugs into the buss hub and outputs data to a compliant device.
you may be disaapinted at the data the tach will display until you figgure out this bill gates dream thing.
command link isnt very intuitive nor user friendly at first.,
you would figgure the japs would have nailed it but look at toyota or the volvo QL-EST thing.
