Well there is another restore project going on my house, that is 2 now! This time I am helping my friend with his 1976 Campion ski boat. He picked it up last summer, The stringers and deck are in very good shape so we are going to replace the transom and paint the whole boat.

Today we seperated the two halfs of the boat. We are going to replace the transom and then flip the hull upside down and get her painted. Then do the same for the Cap of the boat. She should look nice when it is all done! We will be posting pictures and asking questions along the way!

Looks great. What kind of paint did you use and how did you apply it?

It is rustoleum paint. After sanding the crap out of the boat, we sprayed the boat with three coats. Tomorrow we are gonna buff and wax it. It will look good when finished.

Isaacm1986,
Very nice looking boat, You seem to be making quick work of it too.
When are you starting on the transom?
Looking forward to following your progress.

Bob, I don't know when we are going to do the transom on it. It is my buddy's boat and so it all depends on when he purchases the materials. He want's to wait and see how the Nidabond works on my bass boat before he orders something. I think his next plan is to sand the hull and spray that with a bottom paint he picked up at the marine shop today. the transom probably will be the last thing done.

Looks good so far guys. Looks like you are having some fun over there between the two projects! Did you get my pm about the seacast?

Mick,

i did get the pm. My buddy wants to see how the nidabond turns put on my ranger before he makes a decision. He is cool with the price of your gallon, so i guess i will let you know. If you have others wanting it by all means dont wait for us.

And yes we are having a ball working on these. Let the good times float!

Today we moved the boats over to my dad's place so we could work on them in the shop.

We sanded down the hull, and the plan was to use this epoxy sealer on the bottom of the boat. The marine shop recommended it to us, and assured us that 1 gallon would be plenty for the boat (it was not).

Tomorrow we are going to do another sanding, and use good old rustoleum paint. here are all the pics.

Well we got the hull painted, and just need to do a couple clear coats. The epoxy sealer really messed up the finishing product though. Every time we tried to sand that sealer down it just clogged up the sand paper. We wish it looked better, but with limited funds, we are working with the hand dealt to us.

here are the pics.

Ahh, This boat has been such a pain! haha. Everything seems to be more difficult then it should be! But its coming along. hopefully the top ends up being nice! Just cant wait to get it all back together! I still dont know what to do with the transom yet since its a money issue, and since i have no idea how the stuff you bought is ganna turn out! Who knows maybe it will super easy to do! Just wanna get it back out on the water.

hopefully soon i will have pictures of the entire boat all black on the water!

Also does anyone KNOW anything about these boats! Ive been told its a Campion, but my title says Campio and when i did try to sell it before i started working on it a guy called me from Canada saying yeah thats a sweet Campio. but i cant find anything on them. and when you look up the Campion boats its a different style?

the boat is a 1978 Campio according to the title! Thanks

HAHA, you joined I boats! I knew you would create a account! (for anyone who is interested, Drew is the owner of the boat.)

Welcome to the ever so addicting world of Iboats!

According to that other post i did for you it is a 1978 campion ski boat. I was able to get the HIN number to work and it comes up the same, 78 campion ski boat.

The top looks good! it is in the garage, and the whole house smells like rustoleum paint!

Anyway, glad you joined!

Only recently did you tell me it was a 78. I always thought it was a 76. My bad...
