The primary purpose is to clean every orifice and tube as well as possible, preferably using compressed air. It's best not to use rags since the threads can block a capillary. Then, use a kit for each carburetor to replace the wearing parts and gaskets.

Try not to disturb the linkage adjustments when removing the carburetors.

When replacing the carburetors be sure that the gaskets between them and the intake manifold are new and airtight.

After the carburetors are in place assure that the throttle plates are fully closed when in idle position and fully horizontal at WOT and that the plates are synchronized through the entire range of travel.

Don't forget to reconnect the drain hose between the intake manifold and the air silencer.

While you have the carbs off, there is an excellent opportunity to service the recirculation check valves.

There's some general ones in the "Top Secret" folder at the top of this forum, but they are not as precise as those in your factory service manual, nor as model-specific.

The boat is heading to the shop in a couple weeks, going to mullins marine he quoted me 350 bucks! gonna have carbs redone, all new fuel lines, mph and rpm fixed, lower gear oil, new plugs, new plug wires, impellar kit! Now my next thing i am buying a 12/24 volt motorguide trolling motor, i wanna set up a 24 volt system, just gonna use 2 12 volt marine batterys is this correct( jumper from pos on one battery to negative of other battery, and ground from motor to free ground on battery, then positive on trolling motor to free positive on battery, and what guage wire should i use?????

BCD The wire size depends on where you want to put the batteries. The further from the trolling motor the batteries are the larger the gauge of wire has to be. The trolling motor comes with a lead on it, if you are within that distance you only need that size. We just did my buddies install and had to lengthen the leads by 3 feet so we upped the size of wire. Also installed a 60amp in line fuse and used an 80 amp male female plug to make taking the motor off easy. You should also look at a multi bank charger that will maintain all your batteries, totally waterproof, mounted right in the boat, just plug it in when your done and it maintains your batteries till the next time you need them, will extent the life of them by a considerable amount. my 2 cents
