Has anyone used this brand keel protector? Is it worth purchasing or should I use a different brand. The boat Is an 87 Gemini 152 Little Gem, on a bunk trailer with rollers in the center. Thanks for any help.

Re: Boatersports keel protector?

I've never heard of that brand. Keelshield and Keelguard are probably the most common DIY keep protectors. I have a Keelshield on mine but I've only had it in the water once since I installed it. As far as center rollers, you should be okay as long as the keel protector isn't riding on the rollers when trailering. Meaning those rollers are supporting the boat. I doubt that is the case on your trailer if you have bunks. Any of the DIY keel protectors will delaminate when rested on rollers. If the boat rolls on them when loading and unloading, that is okay. I verified this with Keelshield before ordering one since my trailer is the same configuration.
