Hi,i am new here and new whit a boat,i have a glastron 1976 cvc 18 jet boat whit a inboard chevy 350,is there any tricks or accessory's to install to make my boat consume less gas?

the conversion of power in the transfer from drive shaft, to jet drive is about a 40% loss. engine produces 200HP at drive shaft, output of jet is +-120 hp. they are not economical machines.

Install a Lowrance LMF-200 with a fuel flow sensor and a paddle wheel speed sensor. It will give you instantaneous MPG readings and allow you to fine tune your speed for best economy, plus it gives you a terrifically accurate fuel gauge and an NMEA backbone to which you can add a host of other neat things. I paid around $200 for mine 2 yeras ago and am quite pleased it.

You'd be amazed at how many people I see plowing around at the worst possible speed for fuel consumption. If they had a way to measure MPG, they'd kick themselves.

old jets were not exactly know to be easy on fuel, they are the reason everyone still hates modern jets!

those old drives were fairly inefficient, and the engines weren't any better. Standard engine tuneup stuff applies, as well as maybe getting rid of the points.
