Nice rig! It would be perfect for my cousin as a liveaboard. Too bad it's in California.

Hopefully the next owner drags it up to Wash state, gets tired of it and puts it back on the auction block for the same coin, then I might be able to have some one drag it up here for me, "well maybe" :D

Out of curiosity: When people buy a boat like this on ebay, how do they make sure it doesn't sink the first time the turn on the engines or setting foot on it... I mean does one get a survey on a ebay deal like that before bidding?

A survey would be the best way to go, but I bet the new owner just fell in love and bought it sight unseen.

On vehicles and the like you aren't bound to your bid. I bought my truck on ebay. If I had gone and seen it after the auction and it turned out to be a piece of crap I would have been under no obligation to buy it.

Could be a great boat for the right person. That 120hp Lehman Ford diesel is a great engine, and the boat has quite an interesting history,

It would be interesting to see where you came up with this because it is exactly opposite what eBay Motors says about bidding on vehicles:

From http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/ebaymotors-bidding.html
"Each bid you place enters you into a binding contract. If you win a listing, you?re obligated to complete the transaction."
There is also extensive text suggesting that the buyer of a vehicle perform due diligence before bidding.

Apparently you're correct. Oh well I guess the worst they can do to you is ding or revoke your ebay account. If you pay with paypal though, they work pretty heavily in the buyer's favor so if the vehicle isn't as described, they are going to side with you.

Agreed. It's pretty easy for a buyer to come up with an excuse for stiffing the seller. Getting a non-paying buyer strike or having the ebay account revoked doesn't seem to bother some people.
