Good drama but it is intentional for scrapping IMO.

Brings to mind all those beaching/keel guard discussions.

If you only own so much beachfront, and the winch is right there, and your living is made with a cutting torch, why not?

The captain just read the thread on turning too sharp with an i/o and didn't want to risk it.

How do you know without seeing the transom?

It's not funny. A whole bunch of guys were hanging off the transom "swim deck skiing" and jammed into the props.

Haha just kidding it was a jet drive

watching several time the winch cable is attached to a block and tackle to the right of the winch. it is not attached to the ship. looking at the bow wake on the ship, it is underpower. i do not believe it was intentional. no employer would have that many employees in the area if it was intentional.

I watched a documentary about this on Discovery Channel...it is over in India , they cut the ships up and let ALL of the oils and pollutants just wash into the sea...they have NO concern for the pollution they release into the sea....it is one of the only places ships can be scrapped because of heavy regulations and safety standards in CIVILIZED countries.

Oh its intenional all right, that ship never plied the waters again.
The winch and block and tackle are used to yank huge bits of metal as the bits are torched off the dead and dying ships on either side of the newly beached vessel.
I'm sure Pakistans OSHA is protecting these workers who are torching while barefoot and wearing bedsheets. ;)
Skin must just be like leather living over there.....
