Hello All,
I am new to boating as well as this site so i am looking for some help. I just bought a 1986 Larson bowrider 17 ft. with a galvanized trailer for $100 dollars. It was a local friend and he just bought this bought to pull the motor for his other boat. I knew there was a soft spot in the floor wheni bought it and it needs a motor. I was wondering what my options are as far as replacing the floor and getting and engine to make it sea worthy. I will be doing my boating in the connecticut river and some of long island sound.

As far as fixing the floor, that you need to post over in the restoration forum, all kinds of information on fiberglas repairs.
Engine, not enough information to even answer. What was in it before? Does it have a drive or transom shield in it now? Pictures would also help. Showing the transom inside and out and the engine compartment. We aren't concerned with the rest of the boat in this forum.

Ayuh,... Unless it's an Outboard,... In that case, the General Boating forum would probably be the place to ask...

I'll go out on a "limb" .....If it was an OMC engine and drive. you may have bought yourself a $100 trailer. It just might not be worth doing all the fiberglass work AND replacing an engine and drive. You may be better off just finding another boat.

Cheers,

Rick
