Hello,

I'm new to the site and new to boating. I live in Southern California and have just purchased a new boat and trailer. My problem is that the City I live in has laws that prevent me from parking my boat in my own driveway. The City is forcing me to store the boat and trailer at a storage facility. I'm not sure what is considered to be a "Good boat storage facility". I have been looking for help on the internet and found this website http://www.RVstorageInfo.com that has informative articles on boat and trailer storage. I was hoping that others could share links to other sites with information about boat storage. If not, could you please tell me what you consider to be a "Good boat storage facility".

Thanks for your help, Andrew

Congrats on the boat and welcome. Not sure if there is one by you but "store your toys" has a great facility by me. Check their site out (storeyourtoys.com). Good luck.

Heated storage isn't a big deal where your at so the main things to look for would be:

neighborhood - obviously you don't want to store your boat in the hood :)
security - gated, cameras, concertina wire
Access - you want something you have 24/7 access to

If you have one particular place you'll be doing alot of boating, see if they offer storage so your not hauling it a long distance.

(1) Any facility with a vacancy that accepts boats/RVs (good luck).
(2) Like any real estate related venture: location, location, location.
(3) Security (24/7 video monitoring, passcode protected gate access, live on-site manager).
(4) Cleanliness of grounds (dust-free environment: dirt lot, gravel, concrete).
(5) Ease of access (turning radius and parking issues).

what city is it? I know united storage in costa mesa I think is a good one. Its indoor storage, and a little pricey but no dust or weather on your boat to deal with in the off season. you call them and they get your boat and put it outside for you to pick it up, its really nice.

some areas you can check with the police for reports of crime in certain areas, here in FL you can do it by the address, just open the phone book after you narrow it down to 2-3 places and check them out
