Hey all
Ive been trying to get my outboard ready for spring. Its an 82 Mercury 25 hp pull start outboard. I never winterize my boat because i fish year round...well with this winter the way it has been i havent taken my boat out in 5 months. Anyhow, now when i pull the rip cord, it feels like its getting jammed and is hard to pull. Its in neutral. From tinkering with it, when i pull the spark plugs out, the cord pulls all the way. I sprayed oil in the cylinders to make sure they werent locked. When i just cover the holes for the spark plugs its hard to pull again.
Any ideas?
I dont feel like paying $200 for a simple fix if im just overlooking something.
Thanks in advance!
