Hi there!
I would appreciate if you could tell me the right transom hight to mount an Evinrude 25HP long leg. The boat is a tinnie 3.7m long with a moderate V and no keel.

I am about to modify the 400mm transom to a bigger size to fit this long leg engine. I measured from the inside of the bracket to the cavitation plate of the outboard and I get 570 mm

Does it mean I have to rise the transom to 570 mm (22.5") ? Is that the standard size for a long leg ? I thought they were supposed to be 20"

Thank you
Marc

Make your transom 20", Marco.

Hi and thank you for your reply.
If I make the transom 20", the tilt in the transom will mean I probably get 19" hight at the motor. Considering the distance between the bracket and plate is 22 1/2" wouldn't I be too low?
I know I can always slide the engine up but not much and not 3 inches for sure.
Is the length of the leg standard?
