Is it possible for water to get sucked into the engine if the engine runs on after turning off with the key?

Re: Engine run on

Not only possible, but probable. Dieseling will cause the engine to run backwards. I'm assuming you have through the prop exhaust. Happened to me. My fix was to start using Hi-test gasoline and to allow the engine to cool down by idling a few minutes before I shut her down. Worked for me.

Yes it is possible. You need to look at several things like, timing, idle mixture, idle speed, heat range of spark plugs, carbon deposits in combustion chamber and procedure (ie proper cool down time). It should not be necessary to run premium gas - it only adds to the deposit problem.
