NEED HELP

i have a 2000 model 225 evinrude ficht. Took it out yesterday ran perfect for a while. Started back to the dock it would not get over roughly 3000 rpm. Is it in safe mode or fouled plug? Need ideas.

Re: ficht problem

We had the same problem with ours. It turned out to be the fuel pump. One thing that may help is installing Racor Fuel Filters. They sperate the water from the gas to prevent fuel pumps from going out and you can empty the water yourself.:)

It's probably in S.L.O.W.; Check your cooling system.

I believe that overcharging can also trigger S.L.O.W. in your system.

Re: ficht problem

Fuel pumps will happily pump water. The Racors keep the engine from ingesting it which is always bad :)

Water in fuel and S.L.O.W both kick on the engine lights...
