I have a Mercury 150HP XR4 with a low water pick up, I do not know the brand. Underneath the drain plug for the lower unit their is what I would call an outer shell which had a white nylon filler plug that is damaged. Has anyone seen these types of pick ups and where might I get a new plug?

The unit on the left is a stock gearcase with a Bobs Machine Shop water pickup. The S/S straight slot screw id the factory oil screw and washer. You can call the at the tech line: (813) 247-7040 and ask them if it had the nylon screw/plug in the access hole but most I have see are open with no plug.

Might be silcone filler. Have seen several with that in it. They just dig it out, pull tha drain plug, change tha lube, put it all back together with new silcone on top. Just something I've seen.............

I called Bob's machine shop & they said they do not build their pick ups like this. It is definetly a nylon srew in plug as I removed what was left in the hole.

It aint going to cause any problems without it maybe other than a cavatation burn on paint. Go to a hardware store and look in the cabinet and bolt dept to find a new plug if it bothers you. I myself would forget it and go fishing:D
